Bengal cats are known for their high energy, and Kevin, the Snow Sepia Bengal kitten, was no exception. His photoshoot was full of interactive play which he seemed to enjoy!

Sometimes cats see their reflection in my lens, as I suspect Kevin did here. I often drape yarn over my camera to get them to look at me.

During the photoshoot, I aim to balance a calm environment with play.

Kevin is an inquisitive kitten so I used his natural curiosity to my advantage. He hid under the bed at first but not for long. I gently rolled a felt ball to the edge of the bed and he took my bait!
What does your cat do that’s special?

I always ask folks what their pet does that’s special. Kevin’s family said that he often hides under the blankets and pokes his cute little head out. Of course, we had to capture that! We waited until the end of the photo session when his energy level was down a notch.

Here’s what Kevin thought of the same blanket earlier in the session when he was still rearing to go! This expression has earned him the nickname “Killer Kevin” with the family’s grandma.
Monstera leaves make great photo props!

I have a huge Monstera plant in my living room. I cut its leaves and bring them to photoshoots.

It only took two Monstera leaves to transform this corner of a guest bedroom into a jungle.

Kitten Enrichment
Some Bengals like water so we tried pouring water into a cup to get his attention.

Kevin was bursting with energy, so he was happy to play with all my props and toys. At one point, I told his family that he would probably crash after I left. They said he never tires out and didn’t think that would happen. Not long after I left, they texted me a photo of Kevin sound asleep! I may have a second career in tiring out kittens.

Do you have a Bengal cat or an active kitten? I’d love to photograph them!
